UNGUARDED. PRESENT.

To look at a nude photograph is never a neutral act. We bring curiosity, desire, judgement and memory with us.

The denim in these pictures offers a kind of permission: enough clothing to make the looking seem innocent, never enough to remove the fact of nakedness.

Yet she looks back. She knows that she is being seen, and this alters the image.

Across these 7 photographs, what is revealed is not only a body, but a particular kind of presence; one that remains aware of the viewer without surrendering itself to them.

DENIM COLLECTION

This 7-image collection brings together BW nude portraiture and a stripped-back fashion aesthetic. Distressed denim, direct eye contact and a mix of relaxed and more sculptural poses give the series a contemporary edge, while the monochrome treatment keeps the images cohesive, intimate and timeless.

The Making of the Collection

A finished photograph on a screen is not a finished print. Each work goes through retouching, black-and-white conversion, tonal development and paper-specific adjustments. I then make physical test prints, evaluate them under controlled lighting and make further corrections until the print has the depth, detail and tonal balance I intended.

Original image
Straight from the camera, before retouching or tonal adjustments.

Retouching & cleanup
The image is carefully cleaned and retouched while preserving natural texture and detail.

Initial black & white conversion
The colour image is converted to monochrome as the starting point for the final interpretation.

BW tonal development
Contrast, local tones, highlights and blacks are shaped to create the intended final image.

Proofing & test prints
The image is printed, evaluated and adjusted specifically for the chosen paper (Semi-gloss, matt, baryta)

Final print
After multiple test prints and fine adjustments for one of the paper types, this print is ready.

Final Prints: Silver and Gold Editions
Different papers produce different prints. Silver editions are printed on high-quality matte or semi-gloss photographic papers. Gold editions use premium fine-art papers such as cotton matte and baryta. These papers do not produce exactly the same result, so each version is adjusted and test-printed separately. Once the paper, size and print settings are chosen for an edition, they remain fixed for all prints in that edition.

Mounted & Ready to Frame
The finished print is mounted in a precision-cut passepartout, completing the presentation and protecting the artwork from direct contact with the frame glazing. The mounted work is shipped flat and ready to place into a standard 30 × 40 cm or 40 × 50 cm frame.
