This is a unique print (1) using cyanotype process.
What stands out in this print is its antique character. Unlike digital prints, this work bears the unmistakable mark of being handmade.
DETAILS
Cyanotype is one of the oldest photographic printing processes, valued for its deep, luminous blue tones and handcrafted character. Each print carries subtle variations from coating, exposure, and development, making every piece truly unique and collectible. Cyanotypes are highly stable and can last for generations when made on archival cotton paper and properly cared for. Some 19th-century cyanotypes are still in excellent condition today.
This cyanotype was created by producing a digital negative in Photoshop, printing it, and exposing it under UV light onto hand-coated paper. After development in water, the print revealed its signature deep cyan blue tones. Printed on thick, cold-pressed (textured), 100% cotton watercolor paper, the result is a unique work of art — handmade, richly textured, and built to last for generations.
The print is unmounted and best presented in a 30×40 frame, allowing the handmade nature of the work to remain fully visible.

This image of Katya Clover is issued in a limited edition of 5 impressions taken from the same copper plate. An additional 5 prints were produced from the plate on a different paper and with a different ink. Together, these variations form a total edition of 10 prints from the same plate.
ARTWORK OVERVIEW
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, photogravure was one of the finest ways to reproduce photographs. It is a labor-intensive process and a hands-on craft. Each print requires skill, time, and physical artistry, and now also hard to find equipment, making every impression slightly unique, unlike mass-produced digital prints. The materials themselves—copper plates, cotton-based papers, archival inks—ensure durability. A photogravure can survive centuries if properly cared for.
A photogravure edition is usually small (10-20 pieces) because of the wear on the copper plate and the effort involved in producing each impression. This makes each print not just an image but a physical artifact tied to the history of photographic art, comparable to how etchings and lithographs function in the broader world of print collecting.
DETAILS
Photogravure is a printmaking process that transfers a photographic image onto a copper plate, which is then inked and pressed onto paper. The image is etched into the plate through a light-sensitive gelatin resist and an aquatint grain, giving it a wide tonal range and depth. Once inked and printed under the pressure of several tons, the result is a rich, velvety image with detail in the shadows and delicate gradations of light that most photographic printing methods struggle to match. What you hold is not just an image but a physical impression of the copper plate itself—the plate mark can be seen and even felt at the edges of the paper.

THE ART COLLECTOR’S RESOURCES
ART, VALUE, AND THE LIMITED EDITIONS
Limited editions might turn ordinary artworks into prestigious objects through the power of scarcity. They shape desire, confer prestige, and command premium prices for the privilege of owning something rare. Not everyone gets the logic initially, but we’ve put together these series to get you started. To understand how the art market creates and assigns value to limited editions, you have to explore the strategy and mindset behind them. At their core, limited editions are not marketing gimmicks but a commitment to highest quality and craftsmanship.
AUTHENTIC NUDES. UNCOMPROMISING QUALITY.
It all begins with a vision. Each print carries a story, each one a statement. The paper, the scale, the way it’s presented—every choice shapes how it’s seen. Yet beneath it all, our vision remains the same: authentic nudes of uncompromising quality.
This image is about shape and tone than about telling a clear story. The lines of her arms, the curve of her shoulder, and the play between light and shadow on her skin make it feel like a study in form rather than a traditional portrait. At first glance, it’s intimate — the nudity, the tight crop — yet it isn’t overtly about seduction. The ambiguity makes it compelling — you can’t quite tell if she’s drawing you in or holding you at a distance.
ARTWORK OVERVIEW
This image feels more like a study in sculpture than a conventional portrait. The way the arms create diagonal lines, the curve of the shoulder, the profile of the face — it’s all distilled into form and contrast. The light flattens the background so the body becomes the main structure in the frame, almost like a carved figure emerging from shadow. It’s about how light defines surface, how shapes interact, and how shadows carve out depth. In that sense, it’s closer to classical sculpture photography than to glamour or portrait work. Stripped of color, the focus shifts to texture, light, and shadow: the surface of her skin, the strands of hair catching the light, the soft blur of the background. Even the hair across the face becomes a fine line in the composition, almost like a pencil stroke in a drawing. Everything is pared down to essentials — light, dark, and the in-between tones that give it dimension.

Printed on matte paper, the image holds the viewer’s attention without glare, with deep blacks that are essential for this kind of work.
